Can't really recommend this version of the leverage squat.

Can't really recommend this version of the leverage squat.
Putting it together wasn't too bad. Of course, the instructions were pretty sketchy but that's usually the case with all gym equipment, even high end commercial pieces.I've been using this machine in my Pandemic Gym at least twice a week since May 2020, and I train legs hard. You can get a pretty good squat workout on the thing, for sure. The range of motion it provides is excellent. I can go full ass-to-ground squats without any trouble at all. And it's also great for standing calf raises and any other exercise you can do on a leverage squat machine. However, I can't with a straight face recommend this version of the machine. For one thing, the claim that it can support 1,000lbs is dubious at best. First of all, the weight horns aren't even long enough. You'd be lucky to be able to fit 5 45s on each side, which means you gotta use hundos if you wanna get even close to 1,000lbs. Not that I'd ever come close to lever squatting 1,000lbs, I'm just saying ... the claim is "less than honest". The shortness of the weight horns does effect us "mere mortals", though. Like I said, I can only fit 5 45s on each side and that amount of weight is perfectly reasonable for any average serious trainee. The most damning thing, though, is what the weight horns on my machine started doing. See the attached pics. The right one actually started sagging. That's pretty crazy for something that claims to be able to support 1,000lbs. One time the plates actually slid completely off so it's become a safety issue for me. Also, because the horns are at a weird diameter, the clamp-on type Olympic weight collars won't work. You gotta use the screw-down type.So yea, I don't recommend. I've since replaced this machine with the version from Titan Fitness and it's above and beyond better than the TDS version. Not only does it feel more premium, but it's also better designed. And to top it all off, it's cheaper! So there's no reason to go with the TDS option when there's the one from Titan Fitness.
